It's been a year and I have to admit that this time wasn't as easy, and yet you can see by my results, it was well worth it. Day One was easy, but it's always easy to change a routine for one day. Day two was the most difficult. I could tell that I was detoxing by getting rid of all the sugar, salt and junk in my system. I wasn't hungry, but I did feel like my stomach was shrinking. I felt a little hollow on day two. Through 4+ days I drank more water than I ever felt I needed, but I think it made a difference in my results. The shakes I am drinking are high in fiber (8g per serving) and the water helps to flush my system.
By day two, all the extra water weight, feeling of puffiness and inflammation was gone. That's such a great feeling. That contributes to the weight loss of course. As of this morning I'm down 6.2 lbs. A good portion of that is water weight and all the excess stuff my body has been hanging on to. I'm fine with that. When we cleanse, it's so easy to move forward making healthier choices because the cravings for sugar and salt aren't plaguing us at every meal. I feel like I've set myself up well going into the holidays.
All in all, I'm thrilled and excited to be finished this evening. Our son is getting married in January and I'm thinking it would be great to do this again a week or so before the wedding.
